Strategies for Success in a Changing Reimbursement Landscape

In this video from AACVPR 2016’s panel discussion “Strategies for Success in a Changing Reimbursement Landscape”, Dr. Robert Debusk discusses the implications of bundled payments on cardiovascular service lines. He speaks about best practices to improve cardiovascular service line efficiency, existing gaps in traditional care that have lead to the CMS and HHS’s focus on fostering novel approaches to care coordination and the benefits/growth potential of enhanced cardiac rehabilitation programs. Dr. Debusk speaks about augmenting rehab programs with mobile technology to enable more cost effective home-based rehabilitation. The need for increased utility of cardiac rehabilitation to improve service line efficiency is made apparent through the CMS notice of proposed rulemaking, released on July 25th 2016.
