Lessons Learned From Implementing a Virtual Cardiac Rehab Program During COVID-19

March 4, 2021

In case you missed it...

Watch this on-demand webinar to see how by investing in virtual CR approaches, Allegheny Health System was able to increase its cardiac rehab enrollment rate from 37% to 63% in a COVID-19 year.

Cardiac rehab is a proven tactic to improve patient outcomes, reduce readmissions, and lower long-term costs, but it is underutilized, and the adoption does not match the evidence. During the COVID-19 pandemic, cardiac rehab participation took a big hit with centers closed completely or open with capacity constraints. Virtual cardiac rehab can fill a utilization gap with proven higher patient enrollment and significant positive clinical outcomes. With increased adoption of tele-health during COVID-19, there has been a surge in interest from providers and health plans to provide virtual cardiac rehab as a benefit.
